New Service Options Available at Pensacola Shipyard

Pensacola Shipyard has just completed the construction of a covered work area. Flat Island Boatwork customers can take advantage of this new service now. The length is over 100 feet so it will accommodate a pretty large boat. This new covered work area will allow us to keep the weather out, allow us to work in inclement weather, and keep dust/particulate levels to a minimum while we do repairs and restoration. It’s big enough to accommodate most boats with towers. If you would like to check on the availability of the work area please give us a call at (850) 434-8295!

Flat Island Boatworks is to pleased to offer UV-C LED water purifier products from AquiSense, Inc.

In these “uncertain times/COVID-19” having safe freshwater onboard to drink is a comforting thought. With that in mind, we’ve entered into a relationship to provide these systems for our customers.
UV-C LED water purifiers are low amperage power consuming devices that sit in-line with your onboard freshwater system. When you turn the spigot, the unit is engaged and freshwater flowing to the tap is bathed in UV light. This inactivates pathogens that might be lurking in your freshwater tank. We can now design systems that combine UV light “sterilization” and filtration that lower the sediment load, improve taste and prevent pathogens from being able to reproduce in water delivered by your tap.
These solutions are very affordable and easily installable in most boats. We believe these systems will be ideal for coastal cruisers and any boat taking on water at the marina.

This was a big week for our growing business. We moved our offices out of the trailer and into the building across the driveway into Pensacola Shipyard. Please take a minute and check out the new office and say hello.

We are now stocking Smith and Suncloud sunglasses. We also have a selection of Chumms, so you don’t take a chance of sending your new shades overboard.

IBEX week was great for Flat Island. We are coming back to Pensacola with the latest industry information to share with our team and customers. The ABYC and NMMA tech sessions were excellent.  Drew was updated on the latest news from ABYC about “3 Phase” wiring and helping our customers understand changes coming to your shore power hookup for 2020. Look for a separate post soon about Flat Islands’ upcoming service to help our customers avoid the surprise of “my boat keeps tripping the breaker on the dock”.

We had excellent visits with current partners and we’re working to expand our relationships with a “select” group of new partners filling some gaps in our product line.

We invite you to visit our partners section of the website and check out all our partner pages including the new Garmin, Quick and Sureshade pages.  We believe growing with quality parteners will help us stay at the top of the quality and service mark for our customers.

We hope you’ll check news section often.
